Why use a cruise specialist agent?
Like me?…
Well, it’s like this…
A couple of days ago, I put out a simple question in a couple of groups I am in…’Have you been on a cruise? If not, why not?’ OK, I guess that’s technically two questions, but still.
This was one of the replies I received - “We went on our first one last year for my 50th..... just around the Med to see if we liked it. It was lovely, but don't think we'd hurry back. Just like a glorified Butlins in my opinion... we met some lovely people and saw lots. But too many people in one place for me. Would do it again if we got a real bargain, but out of preference will stick to a 'normal' holiday.”
I then asked her…’What type of holiday would you normally take?’
She replied - “we normally holiday in the Far East and like individual boutique style accommodation so it was so totally different for us.”
And that’s it, right there!
This lady would usually book ‘Boutique style accommodation’ as that is what they love, so why did she end up on a mass-market ship which was ‘more like Butlins? - No offence to Butlins by the way.
Who recommended this to her? Did she just find it online and book it? Did she get any advice about cruises? Would she have booked this one if she had been given advice?
Unfortunately now this lady feels that cruise is not for her. If she had been given some advice on the ships, she may well have loved it and returned year after year. This makes me sad.
This is where a cruise specialist agent comes in. If you book through an independent agent, we have no agenda. We are not restricted to sell certain cruise lines, not those who pay the most commission, or those we may be affiliated with. We can offer impartial advice on every part of your holiday. We ask what type of holiday you love and gage which cruise line would suit you from that. We give you advice on the different cabins, and all the facilities available on the ship.
There are so many cruise lines, and each offers a different type of holiday experience. An independent expert can cut through all the hours of research, and perhaps save you some money to - Who doesn’t like that? Plus, we are still able to add those precious cruise line loyalty points to your booking.
Please consider this when you are choosing your next cruise holiday.
All cruises are different

2020 has been a tough year for the travel industry, especially the independent agents and tour operators. Also, not just in travel, but independent traders everywhere.
So, Get out there (so to speak) and support your local businesses, support the small businesses…because with Christmas hurtling towards us, these businesses need our custom, more than ever.
I am so grateful, to have the support of my customers, up until now, and am so grateful to those who are coming to me for help in booking their cruises for 2021 and 2022.
We have to have something amazing to look forward to, and wouldn’t a cruise be just that!?

So, talk of having something to look forward to…my, and thousands of other peoples, winter Caribbean cruise, was officially cancelled a few days ago. I was expecting it, as I knew there was no way it would go ahead, especially given the current climate in America, but still.
But, we move on…and my family and I are now in the process of choosing a cruise for next winter. I have my eye on a southern Caribbean itinerary out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I have always wanted to visit St Lucia, so this cruise would be perfect as I don’t have to fly all the way there, and that’s always a bonus!
